A Cool Brand Strategy

The Challenge

SMC worked with the founder from the very beginning, developing the full brand strategy and identity for The Cool Scoop. That included naming the brand itself, defining the brand voice and building a visual identity that felt premium, playful and distinctly satisfying.

We structured a storytelling framework that gave the brand its own distinctive language, a cool-coded lingua where everything in the brand world carries the same personality. The outdoor vending cart became the Cool Cart. Seasonal promotions became the Cool Promo. Even the founder became the Cool Boss. Consistent, ownable and memorable.

We have continued to grow the brand’s visual world over the years, designing packaging across multiple SKUs and developing a trade manual complete with merchandising strategy and in-store visibility materials.

The Results

The Cool Scoop is today one of Ghana’s emerging artisan ice cream brands, available for delivery and stocked in select stores across Accra. It has also become a sought-after vendor at fairs and events, with a following that looks forward to each new flavour and collection. From a bold idea with no brand to a recognisable name in Ghana’s growing premium food scene. How cool is that?
